AIFolio Page Stats, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity Explained
Understand AIFolio profile views, chat starts, referrers, custom-domain traffic, and when to connect Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity.
AIFolio Page Stats gives Lite and Pro members a simple view of profile visits and AI chat interest. It is designed for quick job-search signals, while Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and search webmaster tools answer different questions.
What AIFolio Page Stats measures
The dashboard reports:
- Views, 7 days: recent visits to your public or unlisted page.
- Views, 30 days: a longer view that is less affected by daily fluctuations.
- Chat starts, 30 days: visits where someone began using the AI recruiter chat.
- Retained views: page-view events still present in the account’s retained history.
- Top referrers: websites that sent identifiable visits during the last 30 days.
Repeated activity from the same visitor within a short period is deduplicated, so these are useful visit signals rather than a raw count of every reload. Some browsers and apps do not send a referrer; those visits still count but cannot appear under Top referrers.
If you saved a custom domain, the dashboard also separates visits that arrived through that domain from visits to the aifolio.page address.
Why Page Stats can differ from Google Analytics
Analytics products use different collection rules, deduplication, consent choices, bot filters, time zones, and attribution models. Matching totals are not expected. Compare trends and sources rather than treating a small difference as a fault.
AIFolio does not run its platform Google Analytics or Clarity tags on a customer’s custom domain. Pro members can add their own Google Analytics measurement ID or Microsoft Clarity project ID for that domain. The tags load only after the visitor accepts the cookie banner.
When to use Google Analytics or Clarity
Use Google Analytics when you need broader traffic acquisition, campaign, device, geography, or engagement reporting. Use Microsoft Clarity when recordings and interaction heatmaps can help you understand how visitors use the page. Both are optional; leaving their fields blank keeps the custom-domain page free of those analytics cookies.
Only collect what you need. If you add your own analytics, provide your privacy-policy URL so the cookie banner can explain the measurement to visitors.
Search Console and Bing measure something else
Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools report search impressions, clicks, queries, indexing, and crawl information. A page can receive search impressions without a visit, and it can receive direct or LinkedIn visits that never appear in search reports.
Use Page Stats to understand visits to the profile, webmaster tools to understand search visibility, and analytics tools when you need deeper behavior reporting. If traffic is missing, first confirm the profile is Public and complete by following the search and AI visibility guide.
