How to Connect a Custom Domain to Your AIFolio Profile

Connect a custom domain to your AIFolio professional profile or portfolio, configure DNS correctly, verify the domain, and preserve one canonical URL.

To connect a custom domain to AIFolio, choose the address you want visitors to use, add the DNS record shown in Page Settings, save that exact address in your dashboard, and wait for verification. Custom domains require an active Lite or Pro subscription.

Choose one primary address

Decide whether your profile should use an address such as www.yourname.com, profile.yourname.com, or the bare yourname.com domain. Use one as the primary address so visitors and search engines see a consistent URL.

For a subdomain such as www or profile, add a CNAME record pointing to the target displayed in your AIFolio dashboard. Save the full address you configured, not a different variation.

Configure the DNS record

Open the DNS records page at the company that manages your domain. The dashboard shows the exact target, but the usual fields are:

FieldValue
TypeCNAME
Name or hostwww, profile, or your chosen subdomain
Value or targetThe target shown in AIFolio
TTLAuto or 3600

The bare domain cannot use a standard CNAME with every provider. Use ALIAS, ANAME, or CNAME flattening on @ when your provider supports it. Otherwise, connect www and forward the bare domain to it.

If Cloudflare manages your DNS, set the AIFolio record to DNS only rather than proxied. A second proxy can prevent domain verification and certificate setup from completing correctly.

Save and verify the same address

Enter the exact hostname from the DNS record in Page Settings and save. DNS changes often appear within minutes but can occasionally take up to 24 hours. Use the status check in the dashboard after the record has had time to propagate.

Once the custom domain is live, your original aifolio.page/username link forwards visitors to it. The custom domain becomes the canonical address, so old links remain useful without creating two competing copies in search.

Connect both www and the bare domain

AIFolio recognizes both yourname.com and www.yourname.com when both DNS records point to the target shown in your dashboard. The hostname you save in Page Settings remains the canonical address. You can instead point one hostname to AIFolio and use your DNS provider’s redirect or forwarding feature for the other; forwarding is optional.

Verify the domain with search tools

For Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, or Ahrefs Webmaster Tools, use the TXT record supplied by that service. In Google Search Console, a Domain property covers the bare domain, www, and other subdomains. These verification records sit beside the AIFolio routing record and do not replace it.

Custom-domain mapping works while the subscription is active. If it ends, the page returns to its aifolio.page/username address. For measurement options, see how AIFolio page stats, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity work.
