How to Turn a Resume into an Online Portfolio with AI

Turn your resume or CV into an online portfolio and professional profile, then add proof, test the AI chat, and publish one recruiter-ready link.

To turn a resume into an online portfolio with AIFolio, upload your resume, review the extracted profile, strengthen the project evidence, test the AI chat, and publish the page. You keep the familiar structure of a resume while giving recruiters a faster way to explore your work.

1. Start with the resume you already use

Upload a PDF or Word resume, or paste its text. AIFolio uses that source to prepare your name, professional title, introduction, skills, experience, and projects. Starting from an existing document is faster than rebuilding the same history inside a traditional portfolio template.

Use a current resume. Remove private details you do not want on a public page before publishing, and check that job titles, dates, and company names are accurate.

2. Review the professional profile

Resume parsing is a starting point, not the final edit. Read the page as a recruiter would:

  • Does the headline name the work you want to do next?
  • Does the introduction explain your value without generic buzzwords?
  • Are your strongest and most relevant skills easy to find?
  • Do the experience entries make your contribution clear?

Correct anything that was extracted incorrectly. A polished online portfolio must still sound like the person behind it.

3. Turn responsibilities into portfolio evidence

A resume often compresses work into short bullet points. An online portfolio earns the click by adding context. For each important project, explain the situation, your contribution, and the result.

“Worked on onboarding” is weak. “Redesigned the onboarding flow, coordinated the release with product and engineering, and reduced the number of steps new users had to complete” is easier to understand and discuss.

Only publish results you can support. Honest qualitative evidence is better than an invented percentage.

4. Add useful public links

Link to work that strengthens the story: a live product, GitHub repository, article, case study, presentation, or company announcement. One relevant example is more persuasive than a long list of inactive profiles.

If the work is confidential, describe the problem and your role without exposing protected information. A portfolio does not need to reveal client data to demonstrate judgment and impact.

5. Test the AI recruiter chat

Ask the questions a recruiter might ask:

  • What experience does this candidate have with the target role?
  • Which project best demonstrates the required skill?
  • What did the candidate contribute to their most recent project?
  • Is the candidate available for remote or on-site work?

The assistant answers from the information you approved. If an answer is vague, improve the underlying profile rather than trying to script a promotional response.

6. Publish and share one clean link

Publish the page, open it on a phone, test every external link, and confirm that the public version contains only information you intend to share. Then add the URL to your resume header, LinkedIn profile, email signature, and relevant applications.

Your AIFolio page is a professional profile by default and an online portfolio when you support it with projects and proof. Create your page free or read how to add the portfolio link to your resume.
